Every ride we run happens here: a protected white-sand dune field inside the Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve, approximately 45–60 minutes from central Cape Town, depending on traffic. Guided departures, automatic quads, full training and the compulsory reserve permit handled for you.
The Atlantis Dunes are a large field of mobile white sand on the Cape West Coast, protected because they sit above the Witzands aquifer. That protection is why access is permit-controlled, why riding stays inside designated zones, and why guided operators rather than open hire are the norm here.
For riders it means terrain you cannot get anywhere else near Cape Town: long open runs of firm sand, steep bowls, and ridge lines that open out towards the Atlantic. For the reserve it means the dune system keeps functioning. Both work only if the rules are followed, which is the main job of your guide.
Every person entering the reserve needs a permit and conservation fee of R300, riders and spectators alike. We arrange permits with your booking, and the fee is always shown as its own line so you can see exactly what goes to the reserve. All departures are subject to daily reserve permit availability.
Take the N1 or M5 to the N7, then the R307 towards Atlantis and Silwerstroomstrand. The exact meeting point inside the reserve is confirmed with your booking, because the staging area moves with wind and dune conditions.
