Flexible, one or two hours per group

Group Quad Biking Cape Town

Larger groups are run as a series of six-rider units, each with its own guide, rather than one long convoy. That keeps the riding safe and keeps the pace honest for both the confident and the cautious people in the group.

Total estimated price

Quoted per rider

The permit fee is charged per rider and is subject to change by the reserve.

About this experience

We handle the sequencing so that nobody stands around: while one unit rides, the next is being briefed and fitted. For corporate bookings we can build in a shared arrival window, a photographer slot and a longer break between rotations.

Because group logistics vary so much, group bookings are quoted rather than priced from a fixed card. Every quotation lists the reserve permit fee as a separate line item so you can see exactly what is compulsory and what is optional.

What's included

  • One professional guide per six riders
  • Automatic quad bike, helmet and safety equipment per rider
  • Group safety briefing and rider training
  • Staggered departures managed on the day
  • Permit coordination for the whole group
  • Optional group transport and photographer, quoted separately

What's not included

  • Compulsory reserve permit and conservation fee, listed separately in your quotation
  • Catering and venue hire
  • Transport unless quoted
  • Gratuities

How the total price works

Compulsory reserve permit
R300 per rider

The permit fee will be included as a separate line item in the quotation. A group total is only calculated once the number of riders is known.

Rider requirements

  • Riders must be able to reach and operate the handlebar controls comfortably.
  • Children ride as passengers with a guide or adult rider where permitted on the day.
  • No alcohol or drugs before or during the ride.
  • Closed shoes, long trousers and sunglasses or goggles are strongly recommended.
  • A signed indemnity is required from every rider or their guardian before departure.

Full detail on briefings, gear and reserve rules is on the quad biking safety page.

What to wear

Closed shoes, long trousers, a light jacket for the wind off the Atlantic, sunglasses or goggles, sunscreen and a buff or scarf for fine sand. Leave loose scarves and jewellery in the car. Full guidance is in the what to wear at Atlantis Dunes guide.

How booking works

  1. Send an availability request with your date, riders and transfer requirement.
  2. We confirm the departure slot and permit availability in writing.
  3. You receive a written total, including the compulsory reserve permit.
  4. Arrive, complete the indemnity, get fitted and trained, then ride.

All departures are subject to daily reserve permit availability.

Cancellation in short

Reschedules are free with sufficient notice, and rides cancelled by the reserve or by unsafe weather are rescheduled or refunded. Read the cancellation policy and refund policy in full before booking.

Where you ride

Atlantis Dunes sit inside the Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve, approximately 45–60 minutes from central Cape Town, depending on traffic. The exact meeting point inside the reserve is confirmed with your booking, because the staging area moves with wind and dune conditions. See directions to Atlantis Dunes.

Group and corporate questions

What is the largest group you can take?
Group size is limited by guides and permits available on the day rather than a fixed number. Send your date and headcount and we will confirm what can be run.
Can you run a team-building format rather than a straight ride?
Yes. Rotations, timed sections and a longer briefing can be built into the day. Tell us the outcome you want from the session.
How is a group quoted?
Per rider, with the tour fee and the compulsory reserve permit shown as separate lines so the total is transparent.
