Riders gearing up with helmets before an Atlantis Dunes quad biking tour

Safety First

Adrenaline, on our terms.

Quad biking is a high-energy sport. We run every Atlantis Dunes tour like professionals — mandatory briefings, premium gear, controlled group sizes, and strict Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve compliance.

Our Six Safety Pillars

The non-negotiables on every ride.

01

Mandatory safety briefing

Every rider receives a full pre-ride briefing covering quad bike controls, braking, riding formation, environmental respect and emergency protocol — before the engine starts.

02

Full safety gear, every ride

DOT-standard helmets and required safety gear are included and non-negotiable. No helmet, no ride.

03

Small guided groups

Maximum 6 riders per guide on every Atlantis Dunes quad biking tour. The guide leads the entire route, controls pace, and keeps the group together.

04

Zero-tolerance sobriety

No alcohol or drugs before or during the ride. Every rider passes a sober check before the tour — no exceptions.

05

Signed indemnity forms

City of Cape Town and Wanderer indemnity forms must be completed before any ride. No signed indemnity = no ride.

06

Strict reserve compliance

We ride only in designated Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve zones. No off-zone driving, no nuisance riding, no damage to dunes or vegetation — ever.

Before You Ride

Come prepared.

  • Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you can move in freely.
  • Bring sunglasses, sunscreen and drinking water — the Atlantis Dunes are exposed.
  • Minimum age and licence requirements apply for the driver's seat. Contact us to confirm for your group.
  • Arrive sober. We run a quick sober check before every quad biking tour.
  • Bring ID for indemnity paperwork. Minors need a parent/guardian signature.
  • Tours are weather-dependent and subject to permit availability.

On the Dunes

Our safety briefing, in short.

Every rider is briefed on the following before we ride:

Our golden rule: if it's unsafe, illegal, or damages the dunes — we don't do it.
