One-Hour vs Two-Hour Quad Biking Tour Comparison

The most common booking question at Atlantis is whether the extra hour is worth it. It is, for some riders and not for others, and the deciding factor is rarely the price.

What you get for the extra hour

The one-hour tour spends a meaningful portion of its time on training and the nearer dunes. The two-hour tour uses that same training block but then rides considerably further into the reserve, linking ridge sections and faster flat sand that the shorter tour never reaches.

There is also a rest break on the longer ride, which matters more than people expect — sand riding is physical, and a break resets your arms and your concentration.

Who should book which

Book the one hour if you have a tight itinerary, are bringing young or nervous riders, or want to try quad biking without committing a morning. Book the two hours if you have ridden before, you are travelling specifically for this, or you want photographs from the higher parts of the dune field.

  • One hour: first-timers, tight schedules, families
  • Two hours: repeat riders, photographers, dedicated adventure days

Cost and fatigue

Per minute of riding, the two-hour tour is the better value, and the reserve permit is charged once either way. Against that, arms and shoulders tire on sand — if you have not ridden anything similar recently, an honest hour beats an exhausted two.

Next step

Prices always include the compulsory reserve permit as a separate line, so the total you see is the total you pay.
